Dread Uber Rides? This Driver Is Here To Help

An Alaskan-Uber driver in Fairbanks has gone viral after someone uploaded a photo of his ‘ride menu’ to Reddit.

The driver outlined eight primary types of ride. Depending on the mood of the passenger, he or she can ‘order’ the type of ride they want.

The original Reddit post, which has more than 127,000 upvotes, goes into more detail about the driver. According to user That1Girl, the car was ‘immaculate’ and ‘it was clear he took his job seriously and wanted everyone to have a pleasant ride.’

The options for passengers included ‘The Road Rage Ride’, whereby the driver would complain about other cars on the road, and ‘The Informative Ride’, where passengers could lament not staying in Alaska for even longer.

For a few years, there have been a few examples of Uber drivers wooing their passengers for a higher rating. While soliciting passengers is strictly against the Terms of Service, the driver’s main position is always ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Ride’.

The only type of ride which was forbidden was ‘The Political Ride’, which seems as wholesome and diplomatic as you can expect.

After her post went viral, That1Girl updated the post with the following statement: “The driver has given permission to reveal his name. It’s Jeffrey, and he’s a Vietnam vet. Driving helps fund his retirement. If you find yourself in Fairbanks, try to catch a ride from him, and ask him about his famous ‘monkey story.’”

So, if you’re ever in Fairbanks, don’t forget to catch a ride with Jeffery. What would you order from his menu?
