Traditionally, models were beautiful women who would strut their stuff on the runway and front campaigns for major designers. However, modern day models have transformed their image and name into brands and have become multi million dollar machines with many different lucrative businesses.

Israeli model Bar Refaeli is one of the most successful models to come out of Israel. She started modeling as a baby before resuming at 15-years old. She has appeared in campaigns for brands including campaigns for Chanel, Escada, Ralph Lauren, Desigual, Andrew Marc, Victoria’s Secret, Marks and Spencer, Gap, Moët & Chandon, as well as appearing in editorials for international Vogue’s, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.

Elizabeth Hurley

British model, actress and TV personality Liz Hurley shot to fame as a model in the late 80s before being known as actor Hugh Grant’s girlfriend in the 90s.

In 2004, Milla Jovovich was named as the highest paid model by Forbes. The Ukraine native started modeling at at the young age of 12, covering Italian fashion magazine Lei. Her gained international attention at the age of 15 with her role in Return to the Blue Lagoon.
